The largest diamond in a century sold in September 2017 for $53 million, weighing over 1,000 carats. The Lesedi La Rona, which means "Our Light" in the Twsana language, was found in a Botswana mine in November 2015. When previously put up for sale, it didn't reach an undisclosed reserve at auction.
